Newbie question

Please do not beat me up too much..please..

Just got Illustrator 11. I know PS fairly well but NOT A THING about
Illustrator. In PS you can reset the pallettes to a default location
(like the edges of the screen). Can this be done in Illustrator?

Yes. That's actually a smart question.

Try deleting the preferences file.
Your palettes should move back to the default.
(I actually have not tried this myself, but it is pretty safe).

Also, read up on "templates", which could save you from having to delete
the prefs file again. You could save the default as a template.
