Not sure if you know this but you can export any .ai file or even .pdf
in Illustrator to .eps and embed the pics. The result is a file that has
all within it, no separate linked loose pics. You should then be able to
make an action to do this to a whole bunch of files in a folder. I have
no time to do this right now but this thought might assist you.
