Hello,

In a program, I have the option to export files in different illustrator versions, such as 5, 7, 88. What is AI88? Is this the
latest version for illustrator?

OK, so what is the latest file format version? Which format should I export to be compatible with the latest version (10, I
believe)?

Yes Illustrator 10 is the latest. Version 11 will be
released in November.

Just save it in the latest version you can save it in.
Then a higher version will be able to open it without a
problem. I do not know what software you are using, but save
it as a "native" AI file (highest possible version) and as
an EPS, give the costumer both files to be sure, I would
say. Do not complain if platform problems occur, you have to
be more specific if that is the case.
