Post subject: AI 10 Mac OS 9 Crashes on Open and Save As

AI 10 MAC OS9.2 Crashes on open and save
This problem happens on many of the computers in our office. When you
do a "save as" or File-Open, Illustrator unexpectedly quits. There were
suggestions on Adobe's web site, we tried them all. Many of them didn't
apply to us (no 3rd party plug-ins, it happens on a number of machines,
so it's not the drive, we reloaded from scratch, etc.) Does anyone know
what causes this? Are there known conflicts I haven't heard about.
I appreciate any help you can provide. |

Yes, tried trashing preferences, fnt.lst, etc. Reloaded app from
scratch. Reloaded SYSTEM from scratch, etc., etc. Every suggestion
Adobe had on their site. Apparently, this is not uncommon, because
there were quite a few complaints on Adobe's gripe line. Unfortunately,
nothing that helped us.

Do you have the same font sets on all your boxes?
Have you tried unloading all your fonts and trying the "save as"?
